PROXIMITY-BASED INTERFACE SYSTEM AND METHOD

A proximity-based interface system enabling user interaction with an object using a mobile device dependent on a proximity between the object and the mobile device, the system comprising: at least one input unit configured to sense an object, and adapted to provide sensing information; a control unit having communication with a database having information layers about the object associated with respective object distances, the control unit adapted to: receive the sensing information from the at least one input unit, recognize the object, measure the proximity from the mobile device to the object, and select an information layer from the database based on the measured proximity; and at least one output unit configured to communicate with the control unit, and adapted to provide output to the user based upon the selected information layer.
