The invention relates to a radiation detector (10) for converting x-ray radiation to electrical signals, comprising at least one first and one second electrode (12a, 12b), between which at least one scintillator element for converting x-ray radiation to light impulses, and at least one photoconductor (20) for converting light impulses to electrical signals are arranged. The radiation detector (10) comprises at least one scintillator layer (14) extending between the first and the second electrode (12a, 12b), wherein within the scintillator layer (14), at least one cavity (18a-c) extending between the first and the second electrode (12a, 12b) is provided, in which at least one photoconductor (20) is arranged. The invention further relates to a method for producing a radiation detector (10) for converting x-ray radiation to electrical signals, and to an x-ray machine.
