PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder housing container capable of preventing a powder discharge port from being erroneously opened.SOLUTION: A powder housing container 50 is equipped with: a powder housing section 51 which houses developer G used in forming images; a powder discharge port 55 which is provided for the powder housing section in order to discharge the developer G housed in the powder housing section; and a shutter mechanism 60 which opens/closes the powder discharge port. The shutter mechanism has: a first shutter 62 which is movable between a sealing position for closing the powder discharge port and an opening position for opening the powder discharge port and provided with a locking cancelling section 73 which is pushed in order to cancel locking at the sealing position; a second shutter 63 which has a cancelling operation protrusion 79 capable of being interfered with the locking cancelling section and is movable between a covering position for covering the locking cancelling section and a cancelling operation position at which the cancelling operation protrusion 79 pushes the locking cancelling section without allowing the cancelling operation protrusion 79 to be interfered with the locking cancelling section.
