PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly damping composition capable of forming a highly damping member excellent in damping performance and low in a decrease in the damping performance when being impressed with repeating large deformation; and to provide a viscoelastic damper for buildings and the like, having a viscoelastic body as a highly damping member composed of the highly damping composition.SOLUTION: A highly damping composition is obtained by blending a base polymer, a silica and a resin, wherein the base polymer is an isoprene rubber singly, or a mixture of two kinds of the isoprene rubber and a natural rubber is used in which the proportion of the isoprene rubber in the total amount of the two kinds of the rubbers is made ≥55 mass%. A viscoelastic damper has a viscoelastic body composed of the highly damping composition. |
