PURPOSE: An image displaying device and an operating method thereof are provided to efficiently perform pairing with a remote controlling device. CONSTITUTION: A communications module transmits the pairing request signal of a first output from an image displaying device to a remote controlling device positioned in a predetermined distance. The communications module receives a responding signal corresponding to the request signal from the remote controlling device. The communications module transmits a fairing start signal of a second output according to the responding signal. A controlling part (170) produces a pairing start signal based on the responding signal. The controlling part performs pairing with the remote controlling device and the second output through the communications module.
