PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermochromic writing instrument containing a thermochromic ink, the instrument that can easily discolor writing letters whose color can be thermally changed, and can be quickly brought into a writing-capable state (pen-point projecting state) or a stored state (pen-point retracted state) even if the user can use only one hand.SOLUTION: A thermochromic writing instrument containing a thermochromic ink includes: a writing body 8 receiving inside the thermochromic ink; a barrel 2 receiving inside the writing body 8 movably and axially; a resilient body 7 that biases the writing body 8 to the rear part of the barrel 2; an operating part 5 for making a pen point 81 of the writing body 8 projected from or retracted into a front end hole 31 of the barrel 2; and a friction part 4 capable of thermally changing the color of the writing letters by rubbing the writing letters of the thermochromic ink and by the frictional heat generated. The friction part 4 comprises a resilient material of low abrasion property, where the abrasion waste is not caused more than the eraser when writing letter is rubbed. The friction part 4 is provided at a front end part of the barrel 2 and the operation part 5 is provided at the parts other than the front end part of the barrel 2. |
