<p>PURPOSE: An electronic device and a control method thereof are provided to easily adjust the magnification of text information by enabling a user to use only a simple operation of a touch screen when the text information is displayed on the touch screen. CONSTITUTION: A control unit (180) provides areas including the text information to a touch screen. If the multi touch is received through the touch screen, the control unit selects a specific area. If a touch among the multi touch is moved, the control unit adjusts the magnification of the text information included in the selected specific area, depending on the touch movement. If the multi touch is canceled, the control unit applies the magnification, which was finally adjusted before the cancellation of the multi touch, to the whole areas.
