The imaging apparatus 100 includes AF evaluation value correcting means 117b configured to correct the AF evaluation value on the basis of the luminance evaluation value. The AF evaluation value correcting means 117b corrects the AF evaluation value by dividing the AF evaluation value in a search position by an arithmetic value of 1 or greater, which is the ratio of a smallest luminance evaluation value that is the smallest value of the luminance evaluation value in a search range Rs within which the position (search position) of the photographic lens is changed when the image data is obtained and a luminance evaluation value at each individual search position in the search range Rs.
