FIELD: process engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Metal is fed from pony ladle into casting mould to maintain metal meniscus position in casting mould at one level. Ingot is drawn from casing mould at variable rate set at metal bulk variation and defined by the following formula: Vp=k×M/((A×B×?)×Q×?), where Vp is ingot drawing rate, m/min, kis empirical dimensionless factor of metal weight in pony ladle equal to 0.3-1.1; M is metal weight in pony ladle; A is ingot thickness, m; B is ingot width, m; ? is metal density, t/m; Q is number of passes; ? is time of metal stay in pony ladle equal to 5-8 min.EFFECT: higher quality of continuously cast ingot and process safety.1 tbl |
