The invention relates to compliance auditing under quality accreditation standards and provides a method for preparing digital documentary evidence for compliance auditing according to a quality accreditation code of standards, including: collecting digital documents representing evidence relevant to an organisation's compliance to said code of standards; creating a computer directory structure on a remote or removable computer readable storage device having a separate document storage directory for each standard in said code of standards; storing a copy of each digital document relevant to a particular standard in said code of standards in the corresponding storage directory on said remote or removable computer readable storage device; and creating and storing on said computer readable storage device a master evidence document having hyperlinks arranged according to said code of standards, said hyperlinks providing access to specific digital documents in said directory structure.
