PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a startup period by preventing degradation of treatment capacity during stop of a treatment apparatus in a method for anaerobic treatment of a kraft pulp wastewater.SOLUTION: A method for treating a kraft pulp wastewater includes an anaerobic treatment process of treating a kraft pulp wastewater with a methanogen on the surface of a fluid non-biological carrier in an anaerobic tank. The method is characterized by feeding methanol or wastewater including the methanol as a main component into the anaerobic tank during an operation standby period of the anaerobic tank.
