The cable connection element (2) has an insert element (8) that is arranged on the surface of flat portion (4). The flat portion is completely coated with metal. The insert element is partially coated with the metal. The flat portion is partially connected in the area outside of the insert element by a fastening ring (16). The fastening ring is provided with a collar (14a) enclosing a nut (14) so that the nut is held captive on the flat portion. The fastening ring is mounted parallel to the surface of the flat portion. The connecting region is integrally bonded with the flat portion.
