PURPOSE: An electrolyte and a lithium secondary battery suppress a micro-tipping phenomenon of electrolyte near a current collector even under a severe charging and discharging condition. CONSTITUTION: An electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery includes a linear acrylate compound. The linear acrylate compound is linear acrylate consisting of one linear structure selected from ether, ketone, ester, and amide. The molecular weight of the linear acrylate compound is 1,000-5,000. The electrolyte includes a nonaqueous organic solvent, a lithium salt, and a linear acrylate compound. The amount of the linear acrylate compound is 0.1-20 wt%.
