In hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) mode, in which a clutch (CL) is engaged, from t1, while coasting due to an accelerator position (APO) of zero, if the vehicle is decelerated by a brake pedal force (Fb) greater than zero (i.e., braking), and regenerative braking starts at t2, at which point VSP is less than VSPsb, in order to increase regeneration efficiency, the clutch (CL) is released due to an engagement pressure of zero, thereby cutting off a continuously variable transmission (4) from the wheels (5), and stopping the engine (1) (i.e., Ne = 0). From t3, at which point VSP <= VSPs0, an electric pump (34) is activated, and the oil from that point on causes the clutch (CL) to engage and causes the continuously variable transmission (4) to downshift to prevent the vehicle from starting in high gear, and orients a CVT pulley ratio (i) to the lowest gear ratio. The activation of the electric pump (34), engagement of the clutch (CL), and downshift of the continuously variable transmission (4) continue until t4, at which point the CVT pulley ratio (i) reaches the lowest gear ratio.
|
