The method involves producing electrolytic reaction of a fuel (4) with electrical conductive, aqueous electrolytes (3), where the fuel comprises two elements or fuel components of different electric potentials. Current is produced by using electrodes (10, 11) working as an anode and a cathode by cooperation with the electrolytes. A combustible gas is produced by the electrolytic reaction of the fuel with the electrical conductive, aqueous electrolytes for electroless production of hydrogen containing combustible gas. The electrolyte is used as an acidic, neutral or basic electrolyte and in form of a diluted sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid or salt water.
