METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING TRANSMITTING POWER IN THE MIMO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A transmission power decision method in a multi antenna communication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to determine transmission power of a transmission device which optimizes energy efficiency and considers a channel capacity at the same time. CONSTITUTION: A power consumption calculation unit (402) calculates the power consumption of a transmission device. The power consumption calculation unit calculates power which is used by a power amplifier and an internal circuit of the transmission device. A capacity calculation unit (403) calculates the capacity of the transmission device. The capacity calculation unit calculates the capacity of the transmission device using the Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) of a reception unit corresponding to the transmission device. A transmission power decision unit (404) determines transmission power which optimizes the energy efficiency of the transmission device based on the power consumption and the capacity.
