PURPOSE: A portable projector and an image projecting method thereof are provided to simply project images on the floor with a method of reflecting image data, which is projected by the portable projector, with mirror. CONSTITUTION: A portable projector includes a projector module (240), an IR transmitter (260), a camera unit (270), a coordinate value calculating unit (280), and a control unit (220). The projector module projects image data. The infrared transmitter transmits infrared rays to a region of the projected image data. The camera unit photographs the region of the projected image data. The coordinate value calculating unit calculates coordinate values corresponding to each coordinate of the photographed region of the projected image data. The control unit determines whether the input by touching the region of the projected image data with one among a pen and a finger exists or not based on the calculated coordinate values. If the input exists, the control unit performs the control for renewing the image data by using input coordinate values corresponding to the input.
