PURPOSE: A detachable handle for cooking containers is provided to grip all kinds of the cooking containers regardless of thickness of the height of the cooking containers by maintaining a state where a lever grips the cooking container in the position to be rotated by a clutch member. CONSTITUTION: A detachable handle for cooking containers comprises a handle housing (10) and a grip member (20). A horizontal plate (21) of the grip member is connected to a rack member (30) and the grip member is operated by the rack member. A pinion gear (53) formed on a rotary shaft (50) of a lever (40) is engaged in a rack gear (31) of the rack member. A first ratchet gear (55) formed on the rotary shaft and a second ratchet gear (64) of a clutch member (60) are engaged and the rotary shaft can be rotated in one way direction. The second ratchet gear of the clutch member is separated from the first ratchet gear of the rotary shaft by a button (70) mounted in the center of the lever.
