<p>Provided are an image capturing device and a method therefor to execute exposure control different among pixel group units. The luminance of a pixel group unit defined by dividing a plurality of pixels on the image capturing surface of an image capturing element is evaluated, and in accordance with the evaluation result, an exposure control value is calculated for each pixel group unit. The image capturing element outputs a control signal corresponding to the calculated exposure control value of the pixel group unit to each constituent pixel of the pixel group so as to execute exposure control for each pixel group unit. Regarding the control signal, for example, exposure control signals having the same pattern are chronologically and sequentially output to a plurality of pixels in a pixel group so as to execute the exposure control per group unit so that the exposure time is equal regarding the plurality of pixels belonging to one pixel group.</p> |
