A liquid cryogen cryosurgery apparatus 901 comprises a primary source of liquid cryogen 921 and a secondary source of liquid cryogen 941. The primary source 921 supplies the secondary source 941 with liquid cryogen, cryogen being supplied from the secondary source 941 to a probe 907 whilst the primary 921 and secondary 941 sources are in fluid communication to effect cryosurgery. The secondary source 941 is an intermediate store of cryogen. Preferably a permanently insulated conduit 911 connects the first and second sources 921, 941 and a second conduit 913 connects the secondary source or store 941 with a probe 907. Preferably the secondary source or store 941 comprises a thermocouple 945 or other content measuring device to automatically control the flow of cryogen from the primary source 921 to the secondary source 941. |
