PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle, capable of extending a life of a display element in spite of use under a high temperature environment and preventing generation of discomfort due to a luminance change of a display image.SOLUTION: A control part 90 forms a display period Fa in which an illumination control part 91 turns on a light source 11 and a display control part 92 allows a display element 30 to generate a display image M based on a display image signal and a non-display period Fb in which the illumination control part 91 completely turns off the light source 11 and the display control part 92 drives the display element 30 so that an ON driving rate of respective mirrors E of the display element 30 in a frame F becomes an approximately half in the frame F composing the display image M. The display control part 92, when changing an ON driving rate A of respective mirrors E of the display element 30 by a predetermined condition, simultaneously changes the a driving current I and a driving period H of the light source 11 so that luminance is not changed. |
