PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinyl alcohol resin film material which can suppress corrosion and obtain an excellent and homogeneous polarizing film, and a polarizing film using the polyvinyl alcohol resin film material and a method of manufacturing the polarizing film.SOLUTION: A polyvinyl alcohol resin film material is used for obtaining a polyvinyl alcohol resin film for forming a polarizing film. A resin material includes a polyvinyl alcohol resin, and an antiseptic. A polarizing film is obtained by dying and drawing a polyvinyl alcohol resin film obtained by forming the polarizing film resin material into a film shape.
