PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interleave number calculation device that calculates an optimum interleave number based on a characteristic of a hologram recording medium.SOLUTION: An interleave number calculation device 1 includes: characteristic evaluation image writing means 11 that writes a characteristic evaluation image into a hologram recording medium; characteristic evaluation image read-out medium 12 that reads out a reproduced image; evaluation characteristic parameter generation means 13 that generates a parameter such that a shape appearing on the reproduced image is specified in circular shape; binarized image symbol string generation means 14 that generates a symbol string from a pixel value of a binarized image in the shape specified by the parameter; temporary interleave symbol integration means 15 that reads out a symbol for each temporary interleave number from the symbol string and integrates luminance for each error correction block; and interleave number searching means 16 that regards a temporary interleave number such that a difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of a luminance integration value becomes minimum as an interleave number of the hologram recording medium.
