<p>The method involves providing digital data representing signals i.e. radio navigation signals (24), received by a satellite i.e. global navigation satellite system (GNSS) satellite (20), on an automatic identification system (AIS) channel. A candidate message in the digital data is identified by correlating the data with a hypothetical fragmentary message, where the fragmentary message has an AIS message fragment, which is dependent on transmission time and/or transmitter position and is determined with assistance of a database of AIS transmitters. An independent claim is also included for a computer program product comprising a data medium comprising a set of instructions to cause a computer to execute a method for detecting AIS messages.</p> |
