PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL element capable of achieving reduction in drive voltage without causing deterioration in luminance, and to provide a display element using the same. SOLUTION: The EL element comprises a first light-emitting layer containing an emission center material, a second light-emitting layer which is laminated on the first light-emitting layer and contains the emission center material, and a conductive thin film which is inserted between the first light-emitting layer and the second light-emitting layer.
