PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance unit configured to quickly close an opening of a liquid receptor, and a liquid ejection apparatus including the maintenance unit.SOLUTION: A maintenance unit includes: a flushing box 40 which has an opening capable of receiving ink ejected from a liquid ejection head, and which is made movable in a contact/separation direction so that the opening thereof may come close to or separate from the liquid ejection head; a lid member 31 configured to reciprocatively move between a closing position where the opening of the flushing box 40 is closed and an opening position where the opening of the flushing box 40 is opened; and a moving mechanism 50 for reciprocatively moving the lid member. The flushing box is moved in the contact/separation direction by the lid member moved by the moving mechanism. |
