PURPOSE: An electronic device and a driving control method are provided to easily manage the instantaneous and sudden load change of a system by using simple circuit configuration. CONSTITUTION: An input unit receives DC power from an external adapter. A battery unit (220) stores the DC power. A first control unit (141) is driven by using the power from the battery unit or the power from the input unit during a first operation mode. The first control unit is driven by using both of the power during a second operation mode. A power control unit (230) senses the charge state of the battery unit, and restricts the conversion into the second operation mode according to the state of the battery unit. If the charge state is less than a preset capacity, the power control unit restricts that the mode of an electronic device is converted into the second operation mode.
