A method for determination of the level of intensity of interlobular and periductal fibrosis of pancreas involves carrying out pathomorphological investigation of tissue of pancreas and determination of propagation of fibrosis of pancreas. Additionally immune-histochemical investigation of expression of smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) α-isoform, marker of activated pancreatic stellate cells is carried out, and with use of a widespread medical program ImageJ for analysis and processing of digital images further morphometric investigation is carried out, and if in the sections with interlobular fibrosis the area of immune-positive activated stellate cells is from 3.08 % to 8.04 %, light degree of interlobular fibrosis is diagnosed, from 8.05 % to 22.70 % - severe degree of interlobular fibrosis is diagnosed, if in the centers of periductal fibrosis the area of immune-positive activated stellate cells is from 1.19 % to 2.90 %, light degree of periductal fibrosis is diagnosed, from 3.01 % to 6.27 % - severe degree of periductal fibrosis is diagnosed. |
