<p>An improved push fit pipe connection, e.g. for water pipe etc., has the end (4) of the pipe pushed into a locking position between a nipple (1) and an outer clamping sleeve (2). The nipple and sleeve are linked and a tag (7) is provided in the inner end of the sleeve. The tag is attached to the sleeve by a film hinge (11) and by shear connections. The end (4) of the pipe has a recess (8), or slot, and as the pipe is pushed onto the nipple the tag is first displaced outwards, breaking the shear connections and then drops into the recess thuds providing a clean indication that the pipe has been pushed fully into the connection.</p> |
