PURPOSE: A pipe protecting system is provided to prevent pipes from being frozen when the pipes are exposed in low temperature atmosphere in a state where the pipes are installed on a deck. CONSTITUTION: A pipe protecting system(10) comprises a pipe protecting member(22), a pump(16), and a gas source. The pipe protecting member surrounds a pipe installed on a ship(1) or an offshore structure. The pump injects gas between the inside of the pipe protecting member and the outside of the pipe in one direction. The gas source supplies gas to the pump. A gas discharge pipe is formed between the inside of the pipe protecting member and the outside of the pipe in the other direction to discharge the gas. |
