PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly start printing by a plurality of heads by suppressing a difference in completion time of printing preparation between respective control parts, in such a configuration that the control parts are provided to the plurality of heads respectively and the respective control parts start printing by the heads corresponding to the control parts respectively, after completion of the printing preparation.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a plurality of heads; a head controller including control parts for the plurality of heads respectively, the control parts controlling printing of the heads based on print data, and making the respective control parts start printing by the heads, after all control parts complete printing preparation for starting printing based on the print data of a print start data amount; a storage part storing the print data; and a communication controller transferring the print data read from the storage part through a communication line to the respective control parts. A printing preparation period required for completing the printing preparation is predicted for the respective control parts and the transfer of the print data is started in order from the one whose printing preparation period is predicted to be longest. |
