<p>The invention relates to a stand intended for assaying ferrofluids placed in a rotating magnetic field. According to the invention, the stand consists of a three-phased stator (1) supplied by means of an autotransformer (2) and a tripolar switch (3), the stator (1) being mounted by means of some vertical supports (4 and 4') on a support plate (5) acting, by means of the rotating magnetic field, upon a glass container (6) which is partially filled with a ferrofluid (7) and is placed within a support piece (8) which, by means of an axial ball bearing (9) rests on a vertical support (10) screwed in the support plate (5), the rotation of the container (6) being controlled by means of some braking shoes (11 and 11') actuated by some electromagnets (12 and 12'); the experiment is followed with a high-speed video camera (13) mounted on the stator body (1) by means of an adjustable support (14), the surface of the ferrofluid being illuminated by a lamp (15) supplied from an impulse generator (17) which is supplied by means of an adapting transformer (18), the lamp (15) being mounted by means of another adjustable support (16).</p> |
