PURPOSE: A control method for following a vertical profile in a speed-height plane is provided to combine a reference trajectory with a motion equation describing vertical motions of an unnamed aerial vehicle (UAV) in a speed-height plane, thereby offering an optimal solution for following a reference profile. CONSTITUTION: A reference height-transition trajectory of an aerial vehicle is determined in a speed-height plane which is not a real flight space but convenient for expressing and considering performance of the aerial vehicle. A real height-transition flight is performed according to the determined reference height-transition trajectory. A time-variant system equation of motion for tracking the reference height-transition trajectory is the following equation (9): x=Ax+Bu. Herein, u is a control input value.
