The invention relates to a utensil for opening bivalve molluscs, made up of a body-casing (1) comprising a blade (11) projecting continuously towards the front; said body-casing (1) comprising a kinematic chain (2) which, when actuated by the user, rotates a drill bit (3) in a single direction, said drill bit also projecting from said body-casing (1) adjacent to the aforementioned blade (11); such that first the rotating drill bit (3) is inserted via the muscle of the oyster, removing the resistance of the latter to opening the shell as the blade (11) is inserted, the latter acting as a dagger between the shells, cutting the muscle in order to open the mollusc completely.
