PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which an amount of developer in a development device does not become excessive and the problem caused by the excess of an amount of developer does not occur even when repeating print job of one sheet which does not wait for circulation of the developer in the developing device to become a stationary state.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 stops a developing sleeve 8, a developing screw 5, and an agitation screw 6 by executing a post-rotation mode after development of an electrostatic image is finished. When a period of time from rotation start of the developing screw 5 to finish of the development of an electrostatic image does not reach a prescribed period of time, a control part 110 controls a period of time from finish of the development of the electrostatic image to stopping of the agitation screw 6 to be longer than that in the case that the period of time is equal to or longer than the prescribed period of time. The period of time from finish of the development of the electrostatic image to stopping of the developing screw 5 is controlled to be longer as the period of time from rotation start of the developing screw 5 to finish of the development of the electrostatic image is shorter. |
