A mortar guide 10 suitable for use in constructing a brick or block wall comprises two arms 20A, 20B, each with an upper surface and a lower surface, the arms spaced apart to define a region (50, Fig. 2) between them. At least one of the two arms has apositioning feature 40 on its lower surface, the positioning feature having a face 40 oriented towards the other of the two arms and adapted to be brought adjacent to a side surface of a brick or block (100A, 100B, Fig. 2) with the guide placed on top of said brick or block to position the guide relative to the brick or block. The mortar guide includes an arm retaining means 70, 80 to retain the two arms spaced apart from another. The arm retaining means is configured to permit the spacing of the two arms to be slideably adjusted. |
