The device has an arrangement of a light source (12) and a light guide (10), where the arrangement is established to link light from the light source into the light guide over a light entrance surface (18) of the light guide. A light exit surface of the light guide is a boundary face of an uncoupling element (14) protruding transverse to main propagation direction (x) from a side of the light guide. A light refracting-optical element is adapted to direct uncoupled light from the light exit surface into one predetermined direction.
