The method involves providing an internal combustion engine (10) with cylinders (12, 14, 16, 18), and detecting a deviation of an actual operational behavior from a target operational behavior of one of the cylinders of the internal combustion engine by a detection device. A measure is accomplished for compensation of the deviation, where the measure affects combustion in the cylinder with the deviation. Quantity (24, 28, 34) of fuel injected into the cylinder of the internal combustion engine is adjusted for compensating the deviation. |
