PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing low melting flame retardant polyester filaments with an excellent light blocking is provided to manufacture fabrics which show excellent light blocking without using separate dope dyed yarns due to light blocking compounds contained in the yarn itself and maintain the quality of the whole fabric since enough heat welding and hardening are caused at a low thermal treating temperature which prevents shrinkage strain or gloss change due to the heat. CONSTITUTION: A core-sheath type polyester filament includes a core polymer(A) containing a high melting polyester resin(a1) and a light blocking compound(a2), and a sheath polymer(B) containing a low melting copolymer polyester resin(b1) and a phosphorous flame retardant(b2). The polyester filament contains the core polymer(A) of 30-80 wt% and the sheath polymer(B) of 20-70 wt%. The high melting polyester resin(a1) is polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate or polytrimethylene terephthalate. The intrinsic viscosity of the high melting polyester resin(a1) is 0.6 or greater. The light blocking compound(a2) is carbon black or a coloring agent. The content of the light blocking compound(a2) is 0.4-2.0 wt% to the weight of the core polymer(A). The low melting copolymer polyester resin(b1) is manufactured by condensation polymerization of a dicarboxylic acid component(b11) which contains 70-80 mol% of terephthalic acid or dimethyl terephthalate and 20-30 mol% of adipic acid or dimethyl adipate, and diol component(b12) which contains 50-70 mol% of ethylene glycol and 30-50 wt% of 1,4-butandiol. |
