<p>THE PRESENT INVENTION INCLUDES A COMPOSITION, WHICH HAS BEEN FOUND PARTICULARLY SUITABLE FOR USE IN CRITICAL MOLDING PROCESSES SUCH AS BLOW MOLDING. THIS COMPOSITION COMPRISES AN ETHYLENE HOMOPOLYMER, COPOLYMER, OR A COMBINATION THEREOF. THE POLYMERS ARE FORMED USING ZIEGLER-TYPE CATALYSTS AND HAVE SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETE TERMINAL SATURATION. THE COMPOSITION INCLUDES AN ORGANIC UNSATURATED SILANE, A FREE RADICAL GENERATING AGENT, AND A SILANOL CONDENSATION CATALYST. THE PRESENT INVENTION ALSO PROVIDE A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING CROSSLINKABLE HIGH-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE SUITABLE FOR BLOW MOLDING WHICH EMPLOYS A SINGLE PACK AND SINGLE STEP SILANE CROSSLINKING, HAVING A GOOD BALANCE OF HEAT RESISTANT (SERVICE TEMPERATURE) AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES, THUS POLYETHYLENE HAVING A GOOD BALANCE BETWEEN THE ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS CRACKING RESISTANCE AND RIGIDITY.</p> |
