PURPOSE: A rope for an elevator is provided to prevent wire cutting and occurrence of noise by rubbing between a rope for an elevator and a pulley groove of driving apparatus of the elevator. CONSTITUTION: A rope for elevator comprises; strand rope bundle which are comprised of 6-7 strand ropes formed by twisting wires and arranged at the central part of the rope for an elevator; a strand rope which is formed by twisting a single steel wire or wire in the around the strand rope bundle; and a monolith which comprises the strand rope bundle and the strand rope by a synthetic resin coating layer like polyurethane.
