PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intervertebral implant which is simply designed and is easy to deal with.SOLUTION: The intervertebral implant provided includes a hollow body which is integrally molded. The hollow body has a superior wall (1) which is configured such that it engages with a first vertebral end plate, an inferior wall (2) which is configured such that it engages with a second vertebral end plate, two opposing side walls (3, 4) which connect the superior wall and the inferior wall respectively, and a load conveyance part which is configured such that load is conveyed between the superior wall and the inferior wall. The hollow body is configured such that it takes: a compressed state in which a distance between the superior wall (1) and the inferior wall (2) establishes a first height (h) of the implant; and an expanded state in which a distance between the superior wall (1) and the inferior wall (2) establishes a second height (h) of the implant which is larger than the first height (h). The implant is made from a material which shows shape memory characteristics. |
