PURPOSE: A lock nut detachable device for a roll choke of a casting roll and a method thereof are provided to facilitate a detaching work of the lock nut by tightening and releasing the lock nut for the roll choke automatically in a replacement or an organizing of a wide width casting roll. CONSTITUTION: A lock nut detachable device for a roll choke of a casting roll comprises a lock nut (120), an attaching/detaching jig (130), and a first releasing fastening unit. The lock nut is fixed to a connecting part of the roll choke installed in order to support a casting material. The attaching/detaching jig is attachably and detachably inserted into an outside of the lock nut. The first releasing fastening unit releases and fastens the lock nut, and comprises a worm (105a), a worm gear, and a drive motor (140).
