The crankcase ventilation system has a fluid line (46) which connects a crankcase (44) partially with an area (36) of an intake pipe (28) which lies between a throttle valve (32) and an inlet valve (34) of an internal combustion engine (10). A controllable control unit (48) is arranged in the fluid line, with which the fluid flow is controlled in the fluid line. The control unit has a shut-off valve (50), with which the fluid line is locked. The control unit has a fluid pump, whose suction side is connected with the area of intake pipe located between throttle valve and inlet valve. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for starting an internal combustion engine; and (2) a controlling- or regulating unit with a storage, on which a computer program is stored, for executing a starting method.
