A sealing ring 25 of natural or synthetic rubber comprises an annular body 27 having parallel radial side walls 38 and flaring side walls 38a adjacent its outer periphery and a pair of integral sealing lips 30 extending radially from the body and projecting axially in opposite directions to form a central groove 31 in the ring, each lip having a sealing surface 32 that is tapered when the ring is in a free condition, as in Fig. 3, and a convex outer surface 39 and the plane of each side wall 38 passing intermediate the ends of the sealing surface of its respective lip. The invention is shown in Fig. 1 applied to the roller bearings 12, 13 of a track roller assembly, the rings 25 being clamped between spacer plates 24 and end caps 16 and having their lips 20 deformed by the shaft 14 so that the sealing surfaces 32 become cylindrical.
