EFFICIENT HANDOVER/SCANNING TRIGGER METHOD IN A BROADBAND WIRELESS ACCESS SYSTEM SUPPORTING A MULTICARRIER

PURPOSE: An effective handover or scanning trigger method in a wideband wireless access system supporting multiple carriers is provided to effectively execute multi-carrier operation. CONSTITUTION: A terminal obtains trigger function information applied to a carrier combination mode and system information of a neighbor base station through a first broadcast message broadcasted to a serving base station. The terminal scans a channel state for one or more carriers of a neighbor base station supporting a multi-carrier by using the obtained system information(S403). The scanning result is satisfied with a condition based on the trigger function information, the terminal transmits the second message to the serving base station(S405).
