PURPOSE: Dual stepped membrane filtration-based water purifying apparatus and method are provided to continue operational processes for a long period of time by reducing the concentrating membrane contamination of a concentration membrane-based filtering bath. CONSTITUTION: A dual stepped membrane filtration-based water purifying apparatus includes a water collecting bath(10), a mixing bath(20), a coagulating bath(30), a settling bath(40), a separating membrane bath(50), and a concentrating membrane-based filtering bath(60). The mixing bath mixes coagulant with feed water from the water collecting bath. The separating membrane bath filters settled water from the settling bath. The concentrating membrane-based filtering bath filters concentrated water with solid materials of low concentration from the separating membrane bath. The concentrated water with solid materials of high concentration is returned to the coagulating bath. |
