A backlight unit structure and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the same are provided to offer uniform brightness to an LCD panel by disposing the high and low voltage units of a cold cathode fluorescent lamp of an adjacent line in different positions in a direct-type backlight unit. An LCD includes an LCD panel, a signal apply unit(152a,152b), at least two lamps(150), and at least one lamp driving unit(160a,160b). The signal apply unit applies a signal to the LCD panel. The two lamps supply light to the LCD panel, are the high voltage unit and low voltage unit of an adjacent line are disposed in different positions. The lamp driving unit is connected to the high voltage unit to drive the lamps. The low voltage unit is opposite to the high voltage unit. |
