PURPOSE: An LCD device including a discharge circuit and a driving method of the same are provided to make a level shifter output a normal gate off voltage, thereby removing a screen display defect. CONSTITUTION: A level shifter(122) includes a first transistor and a second transistor. The level shifter selectively outputs one of a gate on voltage or a gate off voltage through multiple gate lines. A discharge circuit(124) forms a first discharge pass connecting a gate off voltage terminal and an earth terminal. When the power of an LCD panel is on, the gate off voltage is applied to the second transistor after the second transistor is turned on, and residual charge of the LCD panel is discharged through the first discharge pass after the discharge circuit is turned on.
