The retractor has a blocking device (19) i.e. lock pawl, for blocking a belt shaft (1) when a predetermined value of webbing output acceleration and/or vehicle deceleration relative to a retractor frame in a belt extraction direction is exceeded. Two moving parts are moved relative to each other during activation of a velocity-regular force limiting unit (4). One of the moving parts executes a swinging motion. The moving parts comprise gearings. A swinging motion implementing part is braced transverse to a direction of a swinging motion friction coefficient-coating.
